E6 go swimming!

Today we were very excited to go swimming in our school pool for the very first time with E7.  We asked Mrs Graham all day long "is it time to go swimming yet?", and she had to keep telling us "not just yet!".  Finally at 2:30pm we lined up at the swimming pool gate in our togs. We were very excited and a tiny bit nervous! We are so lucky to have a school pool, and one that is heated!  Make sure you remember to bring your togs every Wednesday and Thursday during Term 1.

First we learned how to enter the pool safely.  We had to be careful on the concrete steps so we didn't slip over.  Lucy, Riya and Hunter went first and did a superb job of showing us all how to hold the railing and walk sensibly and safely into the water.

Emily, Angelina and Paige enjoyed getting used to the temperature of the water.

Hunter proudly showed us all how he puts his face into the water and blows bubbles.

Paige walked the length of the pool and Lucy shouted out "I'll race you with my flutterboard!".
Who do you think won their race?

A super start to swimming E6....you'll be swimming like fish in no time!

  1. Hi E6 Super Stars, we have enjoyed looking at your blog and what you have been doing so far this term. We love the pictures of you swimming. We don't have a swimming pool at our school. We would love to go swimming like you do on hot days. We loved your bean plants and Mrs Blau is going to let us have a class bean race too! Congratulations Riya for growing such a big bean plant! We really like your letter of the week hunt, we would like to do that too! We will take a photo to share with you. Have a fabulous week at school. From Mrs Blau and all the fantastic Room 8 children :)

  3. It would be hard to beat someone on a flutter board if you weren't on one too, so I think Lucy got there first. Since I'm Lucy grandma I can be extra proud of her doing a good job of kicking. What a great way to exercise and be energetic, well done Lucy. Also, good job Paige for walking the pool, that takes strong legs, good balance and determination too.
