Ways to Make 5

We have been learning the different ways we can join numbers together to make 5.  We have been learning what number sentences are.  We made fishbowls.  Inside our fishbowl we had to have 5 fish!  Mrs Graham helped us to write a number sentence to show the way that we made 5.
Take a look at our fancy fish and the different ways we got to 5!  You can see that some numbers are still a bit tricky for us to write, but we are making excellent progress!

Remember E6, our next step is to learn to instantly recall our addition facts to 5.  That means we have 4 seconds to say the answer!
Some of us use our fingers to help us work out the answer - see if you can put your fingers behind your back while you're working it out!  Practice writing your facts to 5, and remember to check that you are writing those tricky numbers correctly.
