This week was very busy and exciting in E6. On Thursday E7 joined us and we had a special visitor from the ASB Bank called Captain Cashtastic who came and talk to us about keeping our money safe. 
Captain Cashtastic brought his special bag of goodies with him. He had a superhero mask and cape. He also had lots of money inside his bag.
We found out what money in New Zealand looks like. We know that in New Zealand we have coins, and notes.
Captain Cashtastic helped us to order the notes and the coins from smallest to biggest.
We wondered if Lachlan would be able to hold the eftpos card. We thought if it was holding lots of money in it then it might be super heavy! Captain Cashtastic waved his magic fingers and we said "ABRACADABRA" and then the Captain took his hand away and let Lachlan hold it all by himself! 
Captain Cashtastic told us all about a sneaky villain called Munchie the Money Monster who loves to munch peoples money.
The Money Monster munched one of Captain Cashtastic's ten dollar notes. We had to help Captain Cashtastic by searching around the room for it. We spotted it on the back of his superhero cape.
We decided that needs are things like water and food, and wants are things we'd just like to have, like a new shiny bike.
Captain Cashtastic left us with a message he wants us to think about.

We thought it was funny to see Captain Cashtastic on another blog.
We liked it when Captain Cashtastic tried to find money in the classroom and it was actually stuck to his cape. When we tried to tell him he thought we had made him a cake!

It sounds like your visit from Captain Cashtastic was great fun. Do any of you have a savings goal to help you make the tough choices when the Money Monster wants to munch all of your pocket money? I like to feed my Money Monster a little bit, but put the rest aside where he can't reach it. It's surprising how quickly I can buy something big that I wished for.
